As I sit down to write this post, I'm watching a 60 Minutes interview with Chef Jose Andres (very interesting). The interviewer asked what he though the future of culinary arts was. Chef Andres said fruits and vegetables. When asked why the thought that, he said, "Vegetables are sexy!" While slightly different from the molecular gastronomic creations of Chef Andres, I'm pretty pleased with my sexy dinner.
This afternoon I went to a farmer's market. I enjoyed a crepe with tomatoes, cheese, and spinach. Yum! Memories of Paris came flooding into my head. Next time I go to the market I will eat lunch first so that I can have a crepe au Nutella for dessert. I am salivating just thinking about it! I bought a whole bunch of fresh veggies and even splurged for a bouquet of flowers. Pulling out of the parking lot I realized that I had forgotten to get peaches! That's unfortunate, but not enough to park and get some.
Tonight's dinner menu: stewed tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, and sumer squash with corn on the cob. Sometimes I hate cooking for myself because it means that I have to eat the same thing for days. But in this case I just finished eating dinner and can't wait for leftovers tomorrow night. I love eating healthy, tasty meals. Now it's time for dessert: Ben and Jerry's Key Lime Ice Cream. Mmmmm.
