The nursery has an airplane theme. We didn't play any games at the party, instead we did a little craft. We made an airplane mobile. She registered for the normal mobile to go over the crib so this would serve more as art in the room. I found a wooden kit for a model airplane. It worked out that we could trace the wooden pieces on card stock and assemble these cute little planes. Many people a participated and I just love how colorful it turned out!
I'm sure that you've heard of the book thing but here's what the invitation said:
Just one last request and we hope it's not hard
Please bring baby a book in place of a card
By signing your book they will remember and share
Your special gift even when you're not there!
I can't take credit for it, but I thought it was cute. It added a nice touch to the party. In addition to talking up all of the baby stuff, much of the buzz was about the books. We had about 40 people attend and only one book was repeated. It was awesome!
I spent $0 on decorations and put very little effort into them. My mom and brother bought outfits as their gifts. We used those outfits (gifts) to decorate! We used clothes pins to hang the clothes in front of the curtains. The first day that we hung them up I couldn't take my eyes off the windows. The picture doesn't do it justice but here it is anyway.
